“Dark City” begins as Gotham City is plunged into total Darkness by the Riddler just days before superstorm Rene is posted to hit Gotham. With thirteen issues tying into Zero Year this month, several of which take place in “non-bat” books, this arc provides a nice alternative to Forever Evil, the universe-spanning event currently in play at DC Comics. A madman holds Commissioner Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department at bay. He exits the bank through the front door with a young woman laden with 25 pounds of explosives. He urges her forward pressing a gun to her head. What makes this terrible event even worse is that the perpetrator appears to be none other than Bruce Wayne. Continue reading
